Meet Josh and Camille Plant— College Park Pastor and Nurse Educator

 

Camille was born and raised in Orlando. She attended Lake Silver Elementary, Lee Middle, and Edgewater High Schools. After high school she attended the University of Florida and later moved to Memphis and received her master’s in nursing at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center.

Josh was born and raised in Austin, Texas. He attended the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor and then got his master’s at Truett Seminary. After seminary he moved to Memphis where he served as a youth pastor before ultimately being called to serve at Church on the Drive in College Park.

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
Two daughters: Sawyer (3) and Sloane (1)

Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
Camille is a pediatric oncology and bone marrow transplant nurse educator. Her favorite thing about being a nurse is bringing joy to people during some of the most difficult points of their life. Josh is the pastor at Church on the Drive. His favorite thing about being a pastor is getting to help people make real life change and serve others.

Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?
Tornatore’s, College Park Cafe, Shakers, Tijuana Flats

Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?
Our family has lived here for five years. (Camille moved here when she was eight!)

 

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
Ireland is on our bucket list. There is so much history and beautiful scenery that we would love to check out.

Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
Camille: Movie – Any Hallmark Movie, TV – Downton Abbey, Blacklist, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Josh: Movie – The Prestige, TV – The Office, Parks & Recreation, Sherlock

Q: What advice would you give to people?
Be kind and love others well, no matter who they are.

Q: What is something on your bucket list?
Travel through Europe for months at a time.

Q: What is your go to band when you cant decide what to listen to?
Camille – Hillsong United Josh – Eric Church

Q: What current or former local business makes you the most nostalgic about our community?
Gabriel’s

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
Camille – Joanna Gaines because I would butter her up to redo my house. We would get Bang Bang Chicken at Jade! Josh – Andy Stanley. I’ve read almost all of his books and I’d love to just sit and pick his brain. We’d have to go College Park Cafe so I could get a Cuban sandwich.

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
We love the small town feel we have here while still living in a big city.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
Right here in College Park!

Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
Camille was the homecoming queen her senior year of high school and Josh plays guitar.

Q: What is the most beautiful place you have ever been?
Costa Rica

Q: Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?
December….Christmas! We love Christmas!

Sunny and 75 degrees at the beach

Our kids
