Meet Lauren Muser— College Park Fitness Business Owner
I am a Franchise Owner with Camp Gladiator College Park and Elite Leader in Orlando and West Palm Beach! I love bringing people together through fitness and socials. Organizing community driven events or initiatives that are fun and can help people take their mind off the stress of everyday life brings me so much joy! I’m originally from Lynn, Massachusetts. They call it the City of Sin, but I think I turned out alright Starting and growing Camp Gladiator College Park has been the experience of a lifetime. On the weekdays you can find me doing all things CG and paddle boarding/being outdoorsy, but on the weekends, you’ll find me trying to become Tik Tok famous!
Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
My parents and youngest brother still live up north in New Hampshire. My sister and I live here in Orlando. My family is roughly .025% German, so we like to tell everyone we are German so we have an excuse to make every family gathering we have into a “German Beerfest.” We loved themed parties!
Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
I love my job now because it is the first job I can honestly say that I would do without getting paid. My whole purpose is to be a positive force in my community, in my classes that I teach, and then New Area that I start with Camp Gladiator. I get to organize community events that are strictly to impact people and where we live in a positive way. I just feel super blessed and honored to be a trainer and Director that if someone needs help, positivity, or if a community is in need of a fun event that supports wellness and encouragement, I’m their person!
Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?
I mean if I could have a second job it would be a professional Restaurant Hopper in CP because I jump around often. The Local is my all time favorite, and the Queso at Ollies is the BEST.
Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?
2.5 years
Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?
I find that there are some pretty interesting people at the Local… So I’ll have to go with Pat Semaro on that one
Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
New Zealand to run my full marathon I had planned in 2020 and it keeps getting pushed back!
Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
Moana is my all-time favorite movie, The Queen’s Gambit is definitely the favorite TV show of the month. I’ve also applied to the bachelor numerous times, one day I will get picked!
Q: What advice would you give to people?
Don’t let anyone or any situation define who you are, your worth, or what you are capable of doing with your life.
Q: What is something on your bucket list?
Go Snowboarding in Japan
Q: What is your go to band when you cant decide what to listen to?
Christian Worship all day! Outside of that, Yellowcard or Florence + the Machine
Q: What current or former local business makes you the most nostalgic about our community?
Truthfully being able to teach the huge CG classes we had at 5:30am M/W/F at the College Park Methodist Church! They were amazing partners and the group of campers we had there were just incredible and really helped CG College Park grow tremendously.
Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
Zac Efron…for potentially obvious reasons and I would bring him to the Local so we could do karaoke together!
Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
I loved the College Park Mainstreet events where Edgewater Drive would close down! It’s so unique to our community and just showed how tight knit we are as well when you would see so many people you knew.
Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
This question always stresses my out I won’t lie because I tend to be pretty spontaneous and in the moment. But my ultimate goal is to continue my journey as an entrepreneur and running a business so that I could financially support the start up of a nonprofit that would help children and teens who were or are being abused to receive free psychiatric sessions with psychologist that I choose to partner with.
Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
I really struggle with public speaking it makes me so nervous! But I love teaching huge group classes, like 50+ people. It’s just something about public speaking that scares me so much, so outside of CG classes you won’t find me being the person to volunteer to make speeches or talk! I usually am pretty quiet in big groups.
Q: What is the most beautiful place you have ever been?
Queenstown, New Zealand
Q: Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?
July #summer, 4th of July, July 3rd because it’s my Moms birthday and we are usually all hanging out as a fam in Maine or in Orlando when there isn’t a global pandemic!
Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
Applebees, it’s just the best.
Q: Who inspires you to be better?
My Pastor, Patricia Orlando in College Park. We frequently do bible studies and “life chats” and she has impacted my life immensely.
Q: What is one or two of your favorite smells?
Cinnamon and Freshly cut grass
Q: Finally, what 3 words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME?
Relaxing, Transient, and Comfortable
