Meet Amanda Govin— College Park Attorney and UCF Alumni

Hi! My name is Amanda and I am a Florida native, having lived in Miami, St. Petersburg, Gainesville, and now finally settled down in amazing College Park! I am a proud Knight (UCF undergrad), Hatter (Stetson Law) and Gator (UF Tax LLM), so I guess you can say I am well-rounded. I am engaged to my wonderful fiance Daniel, whom I met while I was at UCF, and we will be married this November!

How we got here? Well, after living in a condo in Downtown Orlando for several years, we were ready to find a home. Neighborhood and community were two things that were VERY important to me when looking, and I fell in love with College Park the first time I drove through it. We could not be happier with everyone we have met so far, both neighbors and fellow members of the community.

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
As of right now it is just my fiance and I, but I am hopeful to add a fur baby to our family early next year

Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
I am a corporate and tax attorney at Dean Mead here in Orlando. I love being able to work with individuals and business owners to either form a new business, sell their existing business, or perhaps acquire another to follow a new dream!!! Small business is the forefront to a great community so I love to be able to do the nitty-gritty stuff to get businesses started!

Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?
We frequent Jade Sushi pretty much weekly (usually as a Thursday night date-night spot) and indulge in Armando’s Pizza on the occasional Sunday night. We also love Rusteak, Ollies, and Digress! And can’t forget Soda Fountain when were craving something sweet!

Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?
We bought our house in December of 2019.

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
After the year we’ve had, anywhere!!! No but really, I would love to be able to go somewhere in Europe, I love experiencing all of the different cultures over there.

Q: What advice would you give to people?
Get outdoors and shop and eat local! There are so many amazing businesses on Edgewater that need our love and support, especially during these times.

Q: What is something on your bucket list?
Launch a travel blog! I love to plan trips and would love to get all of my itineraries together in one place to share with others!

Q: What is your go to band when you cant decide what to listen to?
Kings of Leon or anything in the country genre.

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
I love love love the walkability and friendliness of everyone that lives in College Park! My favorite thing to do is ride my bike around and see how many people are outdoors with their dogs or kids, or simply just enjoying the neighborhood. It is really something so special that should not be taken for granted.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
Hopefully still in College Park, more established in my career with a growing family!

Q: What is the most beautiful place you have ever been?
Most beautiful here in the U.S. would have to be a tie between Yellowstone and Zion National Park! Outside of the U.S., Ireland!

Q: Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?
November and Thanksgiving (which i guess is never the same single day). I love when Florida finally gets to feeling like fall, and Thanksgiving is just such a great day with food, family and football!

Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
A cup of coffee on a Sunday morning.

Q: What is one or two of your favorite smells?
Volcano candle by capri blue, hands down.

Q: Finally, what 3 words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME?
Candles, Fresh Flowers, Family
